This art course for absolute beginners offers a really relaxing and non-intimidating way of getting started with making art
On this introductory art course you will be exploring your creative side and surprising yourself with what you are able to create when you have a go. You will have lots of fun in the process, and will discover how nice it feels to take time out to make art.
This course is all about having a play, being curious, encouraging creative expression and discovering painting. You will get to try out both acrylic paints and a whole range of different drawing materials.
You will produce a lot of work! There will be lots of creative exercises and experiments to start with, and you will build up to producing 2-8 final artworks of your choice. I will support you to produce your own unique artwork rather than the more traditional teaching approach where you all end up painting exactly the same thing.
You will come away from this art course feeling inspired, wanting to go straight out and buy yourself some art materials, and with the enthusiasm to carry on making time and space for getting creative!
This art course is for you if the last time you made art was when you were at school, if you are curious to see what would happen if you did something creative again, and if you end up feeling intimidated when you read up about your more traditional art classes!
The courses are small – with up to 6 people – so you will get lots of individual support with your artwork. And the course is suitable for anyone aged 18 or above.
What people have to say about Be In Art’s beginners art courses…..
“A fantastic art course! Jane has such a gentle and nurturing manner and has developed a course that encourages confidence and exploration without judgement or any rules of right or wrong – she works on the basis that there is no ‘wrong’ way to create art and helps you find your own creative confidence…. I’m really looking forward to going back for my second term and seeing what I can achieve!” Tina Plank
“Fabulous. Inspiring. Everyone should try this course at least once in their lives and discover their creative side. Jane’s techniques of getting us to open up and subdue the inner critic are wonderful. I wish this course was more widely available!” Claire Harvey
“A great course to get started at painting. A lovely relaxed & friendly environment where your creative side is gently teased out. I thoroughly enjoyed the art course, found it very calming but also fun. I learned to become less critical and more patient with my work. I will miss the opportunity to escape into another world – but – it has inspired me to start painting at home!” Anita Casey
