Where are the art classes held?
All of the art classes and courses (unless otherwise noted) are held in my cozy home studio in Oxford. Please note that the studio is on the first floor up one flight of stairs.
What age are the classes for?
How big is the class size?
The class sizes are limited to 6 people to give you lots of individual help and support with your artwork.
How do I pay for my booking?
All class bookings must be paid for in advance, and I accept payment via bank transfer, or by cash or cheque if this is easier for you.
What happens if I need to cancel my place?
Please see my full cancellation policy here.
What do I need to bring?
All your materials are provided – so there is no need to bring anything with you. Tea, coffee and a plentiful supply of biscuits will be provided too. For full day workshops you will need to bring a packed lunch.
What shall I wear to a class?
The painting classes use acrylic paint, which doesn’t wash off your clothes. I provide aprons but you might also what to think about wearing something that you can roll the sleeves up on, or that you don’t mind if you get paint on. The paint may also not come off varnished nails!
How do I get my work home afterwards?
With a lot of the classes, your work will be wet at the end of the session, so it will need to dry before you can take it home. You can either collect your work (work must be collected within 3 weeks of your class) on a Saturday morning between 9 – 9.30am – and Jane will give you dates when this is possible. Alternatively Jane can post your work for you. This will be sent 2nd class and costs £7. Payment for this is due in cash on the day of your class.
DIRECTIONS TO BE IN ART’S STUDIO
Address: Be-In-Art, 8 St Anne’s Road, Headington, Oxford, OX3 8NL *
Find me on Google Maps here
*If you put in the address on a sat nav – you may need to enter St Anne’s Road (as it may not recognise it without the apostrophe).
Parking: Although the parking directly outside my house is permit holders only, there are some free parking options along my street and the surrounding streets. I’ve marked these spots on this handy map —- Parking information. You might like to make sure you arrive early to find a close parking spot. There is also a pay and display car park on St Leonard’s road, about 5 minutes walk away.
By bike: In terms of parking your bike, there are places to chain your bike up on nearby lamp posts, or you can also park these at Headington shops.
Getting here by bus: From the centre of Oxford, there are quite a few buses you can get up to Headington Shops, and it is then an 8 minute walk to my house. You can get the following buses: 8, 9, 280, U1 or the 800.
Getting here by train: From the train station in central Oxford, you can either get a taxi, which would take about 15 minutes if the traffic is good, and would cost about £10 / £15. Or you can get the 280 bus, which stops in the main bus depot at the station, which runs about every 20 minutes.
